Brave New Faves

Pirate Radio Bot v0.3.0

Beatie Wolfe & Brian Eno - Never Was It Now So in June, Beatie Wolfe & Brian Eno released 2 albums titled Luminal and Lateral. I really enjoyed Luminal (& I have yet to listen to Lateral) so have a track off Luminal that I really liked, "Never Was It Now". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW4b3teps5A

Wolfboy - Braintides (2025 - 7:30) - A “sample-free sonic bubble” of synth textures and sequencing created by the artist to help his spouse’s Long Covid induced sensory sensitivity. To me, it sounds like happy, purposeful little computers burbling away. Like a quiet bit from the Portal 2 OST without all the menace. https://wolfboy.bandcamp.com/track/braintides

Cosmic Joke - Forced Perspective | A new band in the mold of 80s SoCal hardcore punk. Punk that gives a shit about melody. | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty3htYiW1dw

World Eater by Bolt Thrower, one of the best metal songs put out by the short-lived Warhammer Records, which was owned by Warhammer publisher Games Workshop and featured classic Warhammer artwork by John Blanche as album art: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fS5vl96usU

Descartes a Kant - After Destruction - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_igolfkQU0 - Sometimes you just need some Mexican theatre kids to tell you things are gonna be alright ("there'll be creation after destruction, you'll see) over some driving guitar riffs, before you find out they've been doing this for about two decades and you wonder where they've been all your life.

Meule - Termer. French band consisting of one analog synth patcher and two drummers that I’ve really been vibing with. they used to have one drummer that sang for real, but seem to have just replaced him with a new non-singer. https://youtu.be/9MrieKhDE44?si=d0c1QpeCGpYOW_re

Einstürzende Neubauten, Ein Seltener Vogel. Eh, screw it, let's try, a little long but so very good. I keep seeing references to this band inspiring other bands. Love me an experimental German band. Quite impressive mood and momentum to this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5P1wkUdT7g

Pililiù (The Call of the Redshank) - Brìghde Chaimbeul|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfXAaeKbV6k|I just discovered Brìghde Chaimbeul (Pronounced Breech-uh Chaim-bul (Haim as in l'chaim)) and it turns out avant-garde bagpipe music was something I needed in my life. A lot of her music focuses on the drone element of bagpipes getting lost in the harmonies of a continuous sound.

I Wanna Go Back by Stealing Sheep. https://stealingsheep.bandcamp.com/track/i-wanna-go-back-2 the band describes it as "crying in the middle of a mosh pit while a strobe light glitches" which would win me over if I didn't already love it. It's EDM that feels like being caught in a whirlpool of denial and turmoil

Oochie Koochie - GOLD | https://youtu.be/v2cjUNGuADc | I’ve been listening to a lot of Japanese hip-hop lately, but instead of sharing my fav recent rap song by the killer duo unfortunately known as Creepy Nuts, here’s a disco-pop jam from the recently formed duo unfortunately known as Oochie Koochie.

Ooh, I've got one: Mahavishnu Orchestra "Dream". Jazz fusion that goes hard in the paint that was lost for 25 years, but came outta the vault in the late 90s: https://youtu.be/oML_x0lIcwc?si=ZOM1zLtMrcqYJx0T&t=124
